Give independence via choice of Food
Toddlers love to live independently. They usually hear word "no" so many times in a day that they start repeating it themselves. They can easily become in charge by saying no to eat something. If you will give the toddler a few choices then the chances will be high for you to hear a big "NO" from him but if you can replace the food with different choices then it can be a good decision. It doesn't mean that you should come up with many choices all the time. If you will ask the picky eaters of yours, "what does he want to eat?" then you are giving him a trigger by yourself.
Solution to the conflicts
If you introduce a new food to toddler then it may not be a choice for him. You will need to bring that new food in front of your picky eater several times so that he can generate some interest in it. There are certain things that can be helpful like textures, smells, shapes & colors so by using new food several times, you can get some help.
Try to make food a big fun for him. You can cut sandwiches in his favorite shapes by using cookie cutter or you can also come up with yoghurt and fruit smoothies. You can shape he pancakes in to a Mickey Mouse or you can also use a raisin to make shapes on pear halves. If you have a motivation in you about food then your toddler will develop the same thing.
By serving different favorite foods in small packages can help your picky eater. He will never like to be a person who has only a few eating choices but if you will serve him with apple slices along with banana slices then he will like the combination.
Your child may start understanding the connection that is present between energy and good food then you can use this thing for your purpose. You can tell him that by eating all the vegetables he will get a good energy to play in play ground then he might listen to you.
If you have any doubt about the diet of picky eater, add some nutritious food in the diet. Following these things, feeding your picky eater will become easier.
